technical committees

EGOLF members meet every six months and discussions take place in three technical committees – TC1 Reaction to Fire, TC2 Fire Resistance and TC4 Accreditation, Inspection and Certification. A new technical committee, the TC6 Facades, was established in April 2025. Election process is underway for Chair of the TC6.

Members elect the Chair of Technical Committees. The current chairpersons are:

Edgars Bukšāns (MeKA, Latvia) - TC1 Reaction to Fire
Stefan Rastocky (FIRES, Slovakia) - TC2 Fire Resistance
Eulàlia Cirici Amell (LGAI Technological Center, Spain) - TC4 Inspection, Certification and Accreditation

The main activities within the committees are aimed at ensuring a common understanding and use of European fire test methods. The Technical Committees are responsible for

organising round robins
gaining common views on measurement uncertainty
interpretation of EN ISO/IEC 17025 for fire laboratories
hosting additional workshops and meetings as required by members
