An application for membership is submitted to the EGOLF Secretary General enclosing a completed application form and all necessary supporting documentation. If all the initial criteria for membership are demonstrated, arrangements will be made for a membership panel to visit the applicant organisation.
The purpose of this visit is to check the independence of the laboratory and to introduce the applicant to the activities of EGOLF, to what is expected of members and to the benefits of membership. Much of this is explained using the EGOLF website, including both the public and members’ only areas. The organisation is then given an opportunity to present an overview of its activities, both general and those specific to the fire sector. This will include a tour of the laboratory facilities.
Processing the application
The panel will report to the Executive and make a recommendation to them regarding acceptance of the application. Their decision is then reported to members for ballot.
